Quarterly Food Distribution Deadline Set for July 2023 Commodity Food Distribution

Deadline for accepting applications for participation in the July 2023 Food Distribution Program is July 7, 2023. Plaquemines Parish residents who have not yet applied for or completed an Application/Declaration Form of Eligibility can do so now or before the above mentioned date. All applications received after the deadline will not be processed for the upcoming July 2023 distribution. Commodity applications are available at all Parish Council offices, Council on Aging and the Community Action Agency office.

I enjoy focusing on cinematic gems nobody ever talks about or remembers. In rare cases, some of these titles warrant the same exemplary praise that popular films like THE WIZARD OF OZ and IT’S A WONDERFUL LIFE have received. One such title is Clarence Brown’s THE HUMAN COMEDY from 1943, a wonderfully uplifting, patriotic and at times perfectly heartbreaking portrait of American life during World War II.

Even with occasional afternoon pop up thunderstorms, we are in a bit of a drought according to the weather data. It’s no secret that springtime means nice sunny weather and less of a chance of rain (festival season anyone?), but I’m starting to see some common heat and drought related issues come up in gardens, including my own.
