Track and Field
Coaches Augie Bourgeois and Clint Harrison are looking forward to an exciting track and field season with the Cardinal boy’s and girl’s teams. This year’s boy’s team appears to be extremely balanced with key contributions expected from several young men. Garland Ingraham, a senior, is expected to supply leadership for the team and will compete in sprints and relays. Another senior, Taren Turner will also compete in sprints and is, possibly, the fastest Cardinal. Farron Jones is a junior sprinter and hurdler and is the only returning district champion.

Field events are covered by seniors Dylan Durr and Kenneth Johnson. Coaches say that Dylan could develop into one of the best javelin throwers in the metro area. Kenneth is expected to challenge the BCHS record for the shot put. The Lady Cards are led by senior Katerina Morales, a distance runner and hurdler. Katerina is the top returner from last year’s cross country team. Michon Williams, a senior is expected to compete very capably in the sprints. Davisha Tyson is the team’s only state qualifier from last season. Davisha will compete in the long, triple, and high jump events. Diamond Boutte will anchor the Cards in the field events, throwing both the discus and the shot and is expected to be a favorite in district meets.
