Thirty years ago there were ten community banks on the Westbank in Jefferson, Orleans and Plaquemines Parishes.
Today there is only one left — Mississippi River Bank.
At that time, there was only one community bank in the parish. Nine Plaquemines businessmen had the foresight to start MRB, as it is commonly known, as an alternative.
“Because of their foresight, today we continue to be the only community bank in Plaquemines Parish,” said President and CEO of Mississippi River Bank, Michael M. Bush. “Thanks to our customers and shareholders, we have had a very successful thirty years and look forward to that continued support of our customers and shareholders.”
