A Golf Tournament was held June 22 at Bayou Barrier to benefit the Callais family, and three-year-old Avery Callais after he was severly burned in a house fire May 25. Avery’s grandmother, Sheila says he is doing very well The family has rented an apartment in Galveston, while Avery is there recovering. He is out of the hospital, Callais says, but has to return twice a day for therapy. “He’s been riding his bike around and telling people to get out of the way,” Callais said with a smile. “The doctors say he is above where he should be right now.” Callais credits Avery’s continuing recovery to the prayers and support of the community.
