Dream Big, Read! Plaquemines Libraries to launch Summer Reading Program June 7!

“Dream Big, Read!,” is the theme this summer at Plaquemines Parish Public Libraries. Children will explore the world of imagination, dreams and goals through stories, songs, games and other activities.

The 2012 Summer Reading Program is open to all young people ages pre-school through 11 years of age. Very young children will need to be accompanied by a parent or guardian. All participants will enjoy professional performers, stories, crafts, a reading club and more! An award will be given to any child who reads 10 books or more, grand prizes will be given for top readers.

There will be a program this year on the Eastbank at the Davant YMCA scheduled for the month of June in conjunction with the Plaquemines Parish Library Bookmobile. For more information on this program, please call the Library Administration Office: 504.398.7302.

This program is supported by a grant from the Louisiana Division of the Arts, Office of Cultural Development, Department of Culture, Recreation and Tourism, in cooperation with the Louisiana State Arts Council. The grant is administered through the Arts Council of New Orleans.
