YMCA partners with WGNO and Bruce’s Coats for Kids

Dec 2nd, 2011 | By | Category: news

“Coats for Kids” is an annual event sponsored by WGNO and NOLA38 that collects winter coats for donation to children’s charities in the New Orleans area. For the past fifteen years, “Coats for Kids” has donated over 100,000 coats to the needy children in the New Orleans area.

The coat drive begins in November and concludes in January. After initial collection of the coats, they are transported to participating, local dry cleaners who launder the coats before they are distributed. Year after year, “Coats for Kids” continues to be a successful part of the two stations’ community outreach efforts.
