South Plaq’s Alexis honored by the US Achievement Academy
Sep 14th, 2011 | By Terri Sercovich | Category: school newsSouth Plaquemines High School student Dallas Alexis was honored by The United States Achievement Academy, being named as an United States National Award Winner in Mathematics.
Dallas is the daughter of Douglas Jr. and Keena Alexis of Port Sulphur, and grand-daughter of Douglas Alexis Sr., Aline Cosse´, Diana Bartholomew, the late Thomas Bartholomew all of Port Sulphur.
The Academy selects USAA winners upon the exclusive recommendation of teachers, coaches, counselors and other qualified sponsors, and upon the Standards of Selection set forth by the Academy. Dallas was sponsored by her teacher, Mr. James Saik.
Dallas will appear in the United States Achievement Academy’s Official Yearbook, published nationally, as part of the honor.
“Recognizing and supporting our youth is more important than ever before in America’s history. Certainly, United States Achievement Academy winners should be congratulated and appreciated for their dedication to excellence and achievement,” said Dr. George Stevens, founder of the academy.
