Few people around today remember what Louisiana during WWII was like. A few may remember the German POW camps in Homeplace/Port Sulphur and in Pointe a la Hache and the German POW “summer camps” in Empire and Boothville or hearing stories of the German submarines at the mouth of the Mississippi blowing up oil tankers, but few really know what it was like.
