Parish Delegation in Baton Rouge Recount Highlights from Legislative Session

  • State Representative Jacob Braud received a “Humane Legislator of the Year” award for HB 641 which creates a “Support Wildlife Rehabilitation” specialty license plate that will provide funds to support licensed wildlife rehabilitators and licensed wildlife rehabilitation centers. It was presented by the Humane Society of Louisiana Executive Director Jeffery Dorson.

The 2024 Louisiana Legislative Session officially came to an end in early June, and though, at time of press, numerous bills are technically still awaiting approval from Louisiana Governor Jeff Landry—specifically the Capital Outlay Budget and appropriations bill—the Plaquemines Parish delegation in Baton Rouge stated that the parish did well for itself.
