Lester Carter Wailes passed away on Sunday, July 6, 2014 at the Louisiana Veteran Home in Jackson, LA. He was 82 years old and a resident of Harvey, LA. Lester was the son of the late Howard Carter Wailes and Ella Louise Crandell Wailes of Bastrop, LA. He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Beverly Gilchress Wailes. He was the brother of Gene Wailes (Sylvia), Bill Wailes (Mitsie), and the late Kenneth Wailes. He is also survived by his daughter, Rhonda Wailes Plucienski (Robert), a grandson, Robert Derek Plucienski, a step daughter, Deborah Sunseri Rosser (Jimmie), and a step son, Philip S. Sunseri Jr. (Stacey). He was the grandpa of Rachael Lynn Sunseri and Adam Christopher Rosser, and the brother in law of James P. Gilchress Jr. Lester had five nieces and two nephews. Lester served inb the United States Navy for four years. After his discharge, he was employed by the U.S. Border Patrol and the U.S. Immigration & Naturalization Service. He was very proud to have protected the borders of the United States of America. After 29 years of service, he retired as a Criminal Investigator for the U.S. Immigration & Naturalization Service. Lester was an avid golfer and a member of the Plantation Country Club, where he met his wife, Beverly, in Gretna, LA. Lester, also, had a passion for woodworking up until his illness. He was a Free Mason and a member of the Belle Chasse Lodge No. 469, F. & A. M. Lester will be sadly missed by his family and friends. A memorial visitation was held at Mothe Funeral Home, on Saturday, August 16,2014. Memorial Services followed in the funeral home chapel.
