Nungesser and incoming Council meet in peaceDec 28th, 2010 | By Terri Sercovich | Category: news
Plaquemines Parish President Billy Nungesser recently held an orientation breakfast and lunch for the incoming new Plaquemines Parish Council Members to help transition them into their new roles. Heading into his second term as Parish President, Nungesser wanted the new Council to hit the ground running. At the forum held at the Buras Auditorium, Nungesser briefed returning and new Council Members on projects throughout the Parish and provided an update on the BP oil spill while listening to the feedback and concern from their districts, and things they want to address in 2011.
“It was a great breakfast and lunch meeting. We discussed a number of items and I feel real good about the working relationship with the new Council going forward,” said President Nungesser. “We all seem to have the passion to improve the quality of life and want to move Plaquemines Parish forward.”
“I feel we had a very productive meeting with a great deal of interaction. There was an air of enthusiasm and a sense of cooperation throughout the session. I am encouraged at our potential in the upcoming years,” said Stuart Guey, returning Council Member for District 4.
