Voters Pass Hospital Service District Millage by Wide Margin

On Saturday, April 29, Plaquemines Parish residents voted on a millage renewal for 2.89 mills (or $2.5 million) to fund the local Hospital Service District (HSD). The millage passed by a large margin, though the election only had an unofficial turnout of 10.3 percent (1,479 voters).

Plaquemines Seafood Fest Holds 19th Annual Event

The 19th annual Plaquemines Parish Seafood Festival was held on the weekend of Friday, April 28 through Sunday, April 30, and though there were some slight issues with weather, organizers of the event said it was still a very successful weekend.
