La. Air Guard participates in Disaster Response Exercise

Louisiana Air National Guardsmen from the 159th Fighter Wing, based at Naval Air Station Joint Reserve Base New Orleans, partnered with Plaquemines Parish agencies to test and strengthen a combined response between the groups as part of an annual statewide Disaster Response Exercise, April 17-22.

1945 and 1947 Buras High Grads Reunite

Graduates of the 1945 class and 1947 class of Buras High School met recently at Copelands in Kenner to reminisce about growing up in Plaquemines Parish and their high school days at Buras. Pictured, from left: Joyce Ruettger, Louella B. Holmes-Duffel, Mary Lou Spanja and Aimee Spanja Prunty. Joyce and Louella are sisters, as well as Mary Lou and Aimee. The sisters were also college room-mates at Northwestern State in Natchitoches. They have been lifelong friends.

Two BCHS Teachers Named 2023 Holocaust Educators of the Year
