On Tuesday, May 16, Plaquemines Parish Government (PPG) o_cials made a trip to Baton Rouge for Plaquemines Day at the Capitol. _is event, held annually at around this time of year, gives locals a chance to showcase what the parish has to oer. Additionally, PPG o_cials get the opportunity to meet with any attending state o_cials and discuss issues or legislation that could impact the parish.

_e First annual Two Sack Challenge event was held on Saturday, May 13 in Diamond Park, and, according to Parish President Keith Hinkley, the event was a huge success with 300 to 400 people attending this craw h cooking competition.

The Plaquemines Parish District Attorney’s Office reports that on Friday, May 12, a Plaquemines Parish Grand Jury convened and returned true bills of indictment on Justin Arendt, age 30, from Belle Chasse, for Sexual Battery and Indecent Behavior with a Juvenile Under the Age of 13.
