On December 28, 2023, attorneys representing Plaquemines Parish Government (PPG) appeared before Judge Michael Clement in the 25th Judicial District Court (JDC) to argue why their lawsuit against the Coastal Protection & Restoration Authority’s (CPRA) diversion project should be heard in Plaquemines. However, Judge Clement would rule that a CPRA exception of “improper venue” was justi_ed and ordered the case be heard in the 19th JDC of Baton Rouge.
