Council Denies Proposed Zoning Change for RV Park

_e Plaquemines Parish council continues to struggle with how to handle the inux of applications for new trailer, RV, and camper parks throughout the parish. _ese kinds of parks have been popping up all over the parish in recent months as property owners seek to capitalize on all the workers coming into the parish to work on major industrial projects such as the Venture Global LNG export terminal. In turn, parish government o ials have found themselves inunmines inundated with complaints from residents over this mad dash to build trailer parks and concerns that the parish may be unable to support the infrastructure.

Port Receives $18 Million in Federal Funding for Ferry Ramps

_e Plaquemines Port Harbor & Terminal District (PPHTD) announced that it had received a grant from the Federal Transit Administration (FTA) to fund the replacement of the Pointe a La Hache Ferry Ramp on February 5. _is grant will provide a total of $18 million for the replacement project and, according to executive director Charles Tillotson, will not require matching funds from the port itself.
