St. Pé gives academic take on diversions

Plaquemines business leaders are in many ways invested in the health of the parish’s marshes. In short, an unhealthy coastal ecosystem creates uncertainty. Whether it takes the form of rising flood insurance rates, dwindling tourism numbers, or fewer shrimp, this uncertainty is almost always bad for business. This, presumably, is why the Plaquemines Association of Business and Industry
(PABI) brought in Kerry St. Pé, executive director of the Barataria-Terrebone National Estuary Program (BTNEP), as the keynote speaker for their monthly luncheon on March 20.
