SPHS football star stays close to home
By Jack Tiebout

South Plaquemines Hurricanes football fans have good reason to rejoice. Their star Senior Sean Wilson Jr. will be playing just up the road at Tulane University for the next four years. Over the 2013 season, Wilson drew interest from several college football programs as he amassed 35 tackles, 15 tackles for a loss and 10 sacks. Though he had his choice of several top-tier schools, Tulane seemed to be the right fit for him. “When it came down to it, he wanted to be close to home,” said Cedric Figaro, South Plaquemines football coach. “Sean is a great kid. He’s a down-home kid. He loves hunting, trapping and fishing. He’s genuine and he loves his family.”
