On Saturday, September 7, Lieutenant Kevin Johnson went to the Plaquemines Parish Library during a Girl Scout meeting. He explained that people that want to hurt us will not look like what we think. They will look like regular people.
He also talked about how they will try to trick us with bait or lures. Examples of lures or bait are a box of kittens, candy, ice cream and other things that children enjoy. They will also try to trick us using our emotions.
Always use the buddy system and never take anything from someone you don’t know. It is also a good idea to have a code word that only you and your parents should know. You should not go with anyone who does not know your code word.
Junior Girl Scout troop 41182 would like to give a big thanks to Lieutenant Johnson for speaking to them about the dangers of strangers.
