Facing $2.3 million in cuts in the Ferry Department, the Plaquemines Parish Council reduced that amount to about $1 million in cuts during last week’s 2017 Budget Hearings.

In a hard fought win that came down to just two-tenths of a second, the Belle Chasse High School boys’ cross country team won the Class 4A State Championship on November 15 in Natchitoches.

This year we are celebrating the 70th Anniversary of the Plaquemines Parish Fair & Orange Festival. The festival will be held December 2-4 at Historic Fort Jackson in Buras.

 

Yappy Hour

It was a Yappy event as Ansardi Financial Services hosted its first Yappy Hour, bringing together dogs and their owners for a social at Cypress Bar in Belle Chasse, last Thursday.
