Council on Aging members attend the Spring GalaMay 16th, 2012 | By Terri Sercovich | Category: community
It was a fun day indeed, when the Council on Aging members from East and West Pointe a la Hache attended the second annual Spring Gala given March by the Plaquemines South Rotary Club. A delicious meal was served, bingo for prizes took place and the main event, the parade of Easter bonnets. The ladies, and men alike, decorated their Easter hats and caps, and displayed them with pride. Each and everyone of them should be first place winners.
In the ladies category, the winners were Brenda Riley, Vera Martin, Karen Boyki and Pat Turlich. Honorable mentions were Joyce Parker, Louise Barney, Adele Gallet and Verna Bondi. In the men’s category, the winners were Martin St. Ann, Adam Williams, Winnie Ancar and Preston Parker. Each winner was presented with a special prize, and no one went home empty-handed. There were small tokens of appreciation given to each and everyone in attendance.
A special thanks for all participating from the Plaquemines South Rotary Club, and all the members of the Council on Aging for coming out and making the day such fun.
