PPSO recognized during awards pogram

The Plaquemines Parish Sheriff’s Office (PPSO) and the Louisiana Highway Safety Commission (LHSC) announced, March 18, that PPSO was recognized for their DWI enforcement efforts at the LHSC Sixth Annual DWI Law Enforcement Awards Program in Baton Rouge. The PPSO was honored for having the most DWI arrests per department and per officer based on the population grouping of 10,000 – 24,999. The PPSO was one of only two Sheriff’s Offices selected statewide to receive this year’s award. In 2013, the PPSO made 116 DWI arrests, with Sergeant David McLean of the 2nd District Patrol Division making 25 percent of all those DWI arrests.
