The Louisiana District Attorneys Association has announced that Plaquemines Parish District Attorney Charles J. Ballay has been elected as a member of the LDAA Board of Directors.
“It is an honor to serve on the LDAA board,” said Ballay. “It allows me to have better insight as well as better imput on the criminal justice system.”
The Association is composed of District Attorneys, Assistant District Attorneys, and District Attorney Investigators in Louisiana. It provides
training and legal services for prosecutors across the State. The Association also develops and promotes legislation to strengthen the criminal
justice system. Its members are available for testimony before legislative committees.
Through LDAA, Ballay’s appointment to the Louisiana Sentencing Commission was accepted by Governor Bobby Jindal.
The two bodies “are extra work,” said Ballay, “but they allow me to contribute not only to the parish’s criminal justice system, but also the state’s.”
