In December PPSO Lt. Mark Plumer, along with 264 other law enforcement officers graduated from the prestigious FBI National Academy Program in Quantico, Virginia.

Plumer attended the 243rd session of the Academy with men and women from 50 states, the District of Columbia, 22 international countries, four military and seven federal civilian organizations.

The FBI National Academy, internationally known for its academic excellence, offers 11 weeks of advanced investigative management and fitness training for selected officers having proven records as professionals within their agencies.

Training for the program is provided by FBI Academy instructional staff, Special Agents and other staff members holding advanced degrees. Many of the staff members are recognized internationally in their fields of expertise. Since 1992 National Academy students have been able to earn undergraduate and graduate credits from the University of Virginia due to the accreditation by the university of the many courses offered.

FBI Director Robert S. Muller III presented Lt. Plumber with his diploma.

Lt. Plumer is the Plaquemines Parish Sheriff’s Office fourth FBI Academy graduate.

“We are very proud of Lt. Plumer’s prestigious achievement,” said Plaquemines Parish Sheriff Jiff Hingle “The commitment displayed by Lt. Plumer during the intensive 11 week program represents a dedication to the Sheriff’s Office and the citizens of Plaquemines Parish. The knowledge acquired through his training will assist with providing professional services to our citizens.”
