Rotary Club of Plaquemines South President Brian Bubrig, Past District Governor 6840 Ace Necaise, Rotarian Bobby Franicevich, Past District Governor District 6840 Neil Alford, Rotarian Stuart Guey, Rotarian Sandra Matte, Plaquemines Parish School Superintendent Denis Rousselle, Rotarian Lynn Cooper, Rotarian Carla Chartier and Plaquemines South High School Principal John Barthelemy.
The South Plaquemines High School has new microscopes for their science labs thanks to a donation made by the Rotary Club of Plaquemines Parish South.
“We contacted the school to see what they need and one of the things they said was microscopes,” said Brian Bubrig, president of the Plaquemines Parish South Rotary Club.
The donation was made possible by a matching grant from Rotary International, Bubrig said.
The Belle Chasse Rotary Club had a hand in the gift as well, according to Bubrig.
The Belle Chasse Rotary Club hosted the Plaquemines Parish South Rotary Club meetings after the destruction caused by Hurricane Katrina.
“They were helpful in getting us the grant,” said Bubrig due to their close relationship with Rotary International.
The local Rotary Club members presented the microscopes to the high school in Port Sulphur at a luncheon on Dec. 7.
