PSVFD Celebrates 60th Anniversary

The Port Sulphur Volunteer Fire Department celebrated its 60th anniversary Oct. 9 at its annual Installation of Officers Banquet. This year’s event was held at the new fire house in Port Sulphur.

The 2010 Installation was dedicated to Charles A. Bondi. Charlie, as everyone refers to him as, has been a member of the department since 1972, under the leadership of Chief E.G. LeBlanc. In 1993 he became Fire Chief of Port Sulphur Volunteer Fire Department, retiring in 2008. He has served the community and parish with honesty and integrity. Since the award was a surprise, the department was able to “sneak” in Charlie’s family to watch him receive this well deserved award.

2010 PSVFD elected board members included: President Joseph Marange, First Vice President Sammy Lightell, Second Vice President Adonis Merrick, Treasurer Clint Ware, and Secretary Monette Marange. Board Members: Sharon Marange, Douglas Marange, John Taliancich Jr., Raylin Hollier, Ray Gallet, Dustin Ancar, and Honorary member John Taliancich Sr.

Appointed Line Officers: Chief Douglas Marange, Assistant Chief Joseph Marange, 1st Assistant Chief Gary Boudreaux, Captain Sharon Marange, Captain Raylin Hollier, Lieutenant John Taliancich Jr., and Lieutenant Adonis Merrick.

2010 PSVFD Ladies Auxiliary Officers include: President Rachel Marvin, Vice President Myrtis Matte, Secretary/Treasurer Bernadette Bubrig, Reporter Darlene Bondi, Parliamentarian Lillian Hebert, Historian Charolette Martinez, Chaplin Lucy David, Sunshine Chairman Adelle Gallet, Calling Committee Lillian Hebert.

Elected Board Members: Darlene Bondi, Lillian Hebert, Charolette Martinez, Lucy David, Adelle Gallet, Sheila Stevens and Tina Matte.

The members were sworn in by Clerk of Court, Dot Lundin.
