Morris Bartholomew, 63, was sentenced by Judge Joy Lobrano to 20 years at hard labor with the Louisiana Department of Corrections, Plaquemines Parish District Attorney Charles Ballay reported.

Bartholomew was indicted on March 3, 2009, with 2nd Degree Murder for the shooting of his wife, Misty Goldston Bartholomew, at their home in Happy Jack that occurred on January 26, 2009. He entered into a plea agreement with the State on May 12 wherein he pled guilty to manslaughter and a sentence range of eight to 25 years at hard labor.

The case was handled by Robert White, 1st Assistant District Attorney.
