Friday morning, at 1:35 a.m., two barges collided in the Mississippi River near Reserve, Louisiana. In light of the spill up river, Plaquemines Parish President, Billy Nungesser has put the Belle Chasse Water Works on notice.  PPG did not anticipate any problems; however, they said they will continue to monitor the situation and advise residents and businesses of any changes.
