B.C. baseball players selected for All State, All Metro and All District teams

BC baseball players selected to Class 4-A All State, All Metro, and All District Teams for this 2010 season.

Nick Flair, a junior third baseman, hit .422 for the season to include six home runs with 32 RBI’s.
Nick Thurman, a sophomore catcher, hit .433 for the season to include four home runs with 27 RBI’s.

B.C. townhouse project moves one step closer to reality
A large tract of land along Highway 23 in Belle Chasse moved a step closer toward being developed into townhouses June 16, thanks to a narrow 5-4 vote by the Plaquemines Parish Development Board to grant a zoning change from R-1 (residential) to RM-2 (multi-family residential).

Coast Guard temporarily sidelines vacuum barges amid safety concerns
U.S. Coast Guard officials approached a group of vacuum barges June 16 that were removing oil near Barataria Bay on the Westbank of Plaquemines, and ordered the vessels back to dock, citing safety concerns and improper certification documents.

Crutchfield found guilty

Crutchfield was not fired, as was expected to accompanying a guilty verdict. Instead the board voted to suspend the popular coach from teaching for 30 days without pay at the beginning of the 2010-2011 school year and from driving the bus for five days, also without pay. He had already been relieved of his coaching duties.
